Biography for Kultika

Kultika is a post-metal/sludge/doom band from Timisoara influenced by artists such as Isis, Neurosis, Solstafir and Wolves in the Throne Room. The current line-up consists of Jack [vocals/keyboard], Fulmineos [guitar], Dragos [bass], Andy [guitar] and Tammuz [drums/backing vocals].
Currently the band is recording its first full length studio album and will perform a series of live shows beginning this December.

The band was formed in 2008 as a three-piece by Fulmineos, Tammuz and Hatchet [bass]. The first ideas were more retro-black/trash but new influences from Neurosis, Isis, Solstafir or
Wolves in the Throne Room led to a strange combination of old-school black/trash and sludge with a heavy atmosphere. After a series of live shows and festivals with bands such as Zemial, Sear Bliss, Bucovina, Faceplant, Bio, NocturN, Era Ticalosilor, the band released it's first EP, 'Kultika' under Dirigent Records on the 7th of October 2009. As the ideas became more experimental into sludge and post-metal the second guitarist Andy joined the band in 2010 and in March 2011 Kultika reached its current lineup with the welcoming of new members Jack and Dragos.

Their first album is expected to be published in the spring of 2012 followed by a support tour.
