Biography for Katharos XIII

The sound of Katharos XIII emerged from dark chambers of human psyche, questions and deep melancholy into black chords, a truly unique combination of different layers and influences…personal experiences (all kinds of abuse, paranoia, severe depressions), strange stories, movies (Greenaway, Lynch), books( Eliade, Cioran, Zola) and of course no one can deny the musical field (Silencer, Bethlehem, Shining, Dolorian or Unholy). These are the contributors and stimulate the project to express in their own way and releasing the dark mesmerizing feelings they encounter. No one pretends total independence/originality in today's world even if it lives like Katharos do, in total isolation, hate and disgust for human behavior.....
The band was founded in 2007 and functioned in the early-days as a one-man band until the beginning of the recordings in late 2008 for the demo material ”Silver Melancholy” self-released in 2009 and distributed by Banatian Darkness Records and Smell the Stench.....
After a positive respond from the underground, Banatian Darkness decided to take two songs from this material and release in the honor of the summer solstice of 2009 a split with Ordinul Negru.
In the late 2009 there were some line-up changes because of the different views of its members regarding future activities, live performances and promotion, and with a new line-up including only the founder member:F.(vocals, guitars, keyboards), and new individuals: sQ (bass), Egregor (drums) and Andrei (guitars) the first live performances took place in the beginning of 2010 and they began the recordings of the debut CD “Dead Emotions”.
After finishing the recordings in late autumn of 2010 got a new drummer, Gabi and continued the live appearances in clubs and festivals, also having a live member for keyboards: Vlad.
